The Sankofa Digital Imprint Project

Patrickslim through the UK Nigeria Tech Hub’s Creative Fund is inviting applications from Nigerian mid-career creatives working in fashion, textile or digital design to participate in a two-month practical learning and creative development programme at no cost to selected participants, focused on digital pattern making, digital embroidery and digital textile imprinting.
A Creative Project, Not Just a Training Programme
The project will bring together three selected mid-career creatives to work alongside specialist practitioners while contributing to the development of an 8-look Sankofa Digital Imprint menswear collection.
The programme will explore three key areas:
- Digital pattern making
- Digital embroidery
- Digital textile imprinting
Through structured online sessions and hands-on practice, participants will explore how digital tools can be integrated into the development of contemporary African menswear.
The goal is not simply to introduce participants to new software or techniques. The selected creatives will learn while contributing to an active creative project, developing practical knowledge that can be applied to their own professional practice.
Who Should Apply?
We are looking for Nigerian creatives who:
Have at least 2 years of relevant professional experience in fashion, textile or digital design.
- Are currently practising professionally.
- Have an existing body of work or portfolio.
- Are interested in developing digital fashion and textile production skills.
- Have access to a laptop or computer for the online sessions.
- Can commit to all eight specialist sessions.
- Are willing to contribute to a knowledge-sharing activity after the programme.
Creatives with experience in menswear design, menswear pattern making, garment development, textile design, digital fashion, digital embroidery or textile imprinting are particularly encouraged to apply.
There is no application fee. Only three creatives will be selected.
Building New Possibilities for African Menswear
The Sankofa Digital Imprint Project reflects Patrickslim’s interest in exploring how technology and creative practice can work together to create new possibilities for African fashion.
According to Segun Yusuf Adesokan, Creative Director of Patrickslim and project lead, the project is an opportunity to bring experienced creatives into the development process while giving them access to digital techniques that can expand how they approach fashion and textile production.
“Sankofa is about looking back with the intention of moving forward. Through this project, we want to explore how digital production techniques can become part of the future of contemporary African menswear while creating room for other creatives to learn, contribute and grow.”
The project will culminate in the development of the 8-look Sankofa Digital Imprint collection, bringing together the creative and technical knowledge developed throughout the programme.
